What is a pre-wedding consultation?
We have a very important job, to make sure that you have an artistic record of the most important day of your life! We want to make sure that we know our clients and understand their needs. The consultations are for you to talk through the photographic style that you’re looking for, tell us about how you plan the day to go, and get some tips and tricks from us to make sure that your photographs are the best that they can be!
Where are you located and do you travel?
We’re located just east of the Greater Toronto Area. We’re happy to travel all over southern Ontario, from Ottawa to Windsor and up as far as North Bay without charge. Anything outside of that, or that requires overnight accommodation can be negotiated!
When will we get our photos?
We will do everything we can to get you your photos within a week, before our next weekend shoot. A typical wedding involves going through well over 1,000 images and editing about 500-700 of them, so it takes me about 20-30 hours. If the season is busy we may need up to two weeks.
Do you videography as well?
We sure don’t. Many photographers advertise that they can do both, but what you’re really getting is neither done particularly well. Photography and videography are completely different fields, they just happen to use some similar equipment. It’s somewhat like building a house and asking your carpenter to do the electrical wiring too. Sure they can do it, but your house might burn down.
Do you have a second shooter?
It’s usually just one photographer unless the event is huge. Generally a second shooter isn’t required as all of the activity is around the bride and groom anyway and a good photographer can get all of the images they need. Sometimes new photographers will ask to assist to build up their portfolio, but that would be at the clients’ discretion.
